A Liar's Guide to the Dreams..

In the dead of the night, the dreams come in one by one. They cling to you with soft acceptance, and they know it all..

These are the dreams which leave a note of remembrance. They cling to our tongues like a bittersweet delight.

They feel familiar, though their flavour melts in the mouth... and taste distinctly unusual.

Of Pune and Good Eats

So I have become addicted to this. Oh My Effing Lord, THIS is brilliant.

SO. Marriages sort of cloud the family again. It seems I have endless cousins all of marriageable age, and all of them are surrendering their effing wickets like Knight Riders and feeling happy about it and its my turn next everywhere and I don't know whattodo OMG I sound paranoid now...

Which I am.

Its allgood though.

After Dorabjee's, it is.

I first heard about it when I was 10. I have people visiting Pune for a long time and EVERYONE told me about that place. And so I went.

Sorry. I cannot describe the food. It is. Out. Of. This. WORLD.

I will just post another picture. Y'all can drool.

Needless to say, the chicken was AMAZING. The chicken mushroom pie was succulent and tender. The Lemon tart was just There to make me happy, and the caramel custard Pudding was OMG.

I want to go back there. Again.

You need to get new guides, I think. You have been terribly, terribly mislead. :D Dorabjee's is not bad for Momos, though.

One of my good friends was all praises for Dorabjees after a visit to Pune last year. You have made me want to visit it sometime. Soon.

@ Rohan - NO WAY. CHOCOLATE SWISS Pastries. Oh Lord. Btw, No one can make better momos than those in Sikkim... gangtok. And in Kolkata there is Tibetan Plaza. Fantastico.

@ whats in a name - Pliss to.

Ok, here's the deal. I'll bet you a plate of momos from the Tibetan Plaza that I could find you at least 3 different places in Pune with better chocolate swiss pastries than Dorabjee's. Doranjee's is not bad, I agree, but you see, visitors to our little city needs to partake of the BEST, and not the merely adequate. :D

damn. okay okay i shall go back there and get fat over chocolate swiss pastries. But where?

Well, there's Cremes 'n Crust in Kalyani Nagar, German Bakery in Koregaon Park, and a lot of places in JM \ FC Road that I don't know of (not really too much of a foodie - I'm usually happy with whatever I can find in my immediate vicinity).

I DID go to German Bakery at KP. but Dorabjee's still rock!! i went to marzorin and pasteur bakery as well.

Yeah, to be honest, I've never tried the pastries at German Bakery. I've only bought cookies from there. My pastries haunt is Cremes n Crust.

oho. hmm cremes and crust will be something i go check out... though i fail to see how its gonna match up to Dorabjee's splendour.... (sigh)
